Glen Peak Presents Silver Medal Award

As the winner of the 2010 American Advertising Federation – Tampa Bay (AAF-TB) Silver Medal Award, Glen Peak has the honor of presenting the 2011 award to Paul Catoe, President of Tampa Bay & Company, the Convention & Visitors Bureau. The Silver Medal Award is bestowed annually by American Advertising Federation (AAF) chapters throughout the country to outstanding members of their local advertising community. Glen Peak presents the award to Mr. Catoe at The ADDY Awards Gala on February 24 at Lowry Park Zoo.

As President & CEO of the Tampa Bay & Co. since 1999, Catoe has been a distinguished member of the Tampa Bay advertising community for many years. Glen Peak remarks, “Paul has been a significant contributor to Tampa Bay growth—hosting a Super Bowl and growing the area rapidly as a convention and vacation destination.” Prior to joining the CVB, Catoe served as the President and General Manager of WFLA-TV, Tampa Bay’s NBC affiliate. A 30-year Tampa Bay resident, Catoe has been very active in the community, serving on the CVB’s board of directors for six years and as chairman in 1998. Catoe is on the board of directors for the Outback Bowl, Florida Aquarium, Lowry Park Zoo, and the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce.

Glen Peak Awarded Silver Medal by American Advertising Federation

TAMPA, FLORIDA—The American Advertising Federation—Tampa Bay (AAF-TB) will present its Silver Medal Award to local advertising agency founder Glen Peak in recognition of his contributions to advertising and commitment to actively furthering the industry. The Silver Medal Award is bestowed annually by American Advertising Federation (AAF) clubs throughout the country to outstanding members of their local advertising community. The award will be presented to Mr. Peak by last year’s winner, Senator Victor Crist (R–Tampa) at the 2009-2010 American Advertising Federation—Tampa Bay ADDY Awards Gala on February 11 at The Tampa Theatre.

Peak, co-founder and President of PeakBiety branding+advertising in Tampa, has been a staple of the Tampa Bay advertising world since his agency’s founding in 1990. The agency has survived economic downturns and client losses, and still continues to create award-winning, effective advertising for his clients. Congratulations Julia!

Julia's Wonder Woman design

Julia Undella, a summer 2009 intern here at PeakBiety, was awarded a $2,500 scholarship for her illustration & design layout for DC Comics. The contest included six other International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT) campuses nationwide. For her entry, Julia chose to depict a story line of Wonder Woman defeating Superman. “I was so excited when I heard that I won the local level,” Julia said. “I spent a lot of time trying to make her look strong and beautiful. She’s a great role model for girls so I hope they continue to develop her character.” Local winners are to compete on a national level to receive another $2,500. The winner will be announced at www.visualdiner.com on Sept. 15, 2009.

Julia’s education started at Southwest Florida College before she transferred to IADT and her grades have earned her spots on the National Dean’s List as well as the National Honor Roll. She has completed a range of advertising projects for a variety of clients including: The City of Tampa and the Florida Music Hall of Fame. We are proud we had a chance to work with Julia and her award-winning work.

TAMPA, FL—PeakBiety branding + advertising® was honored Saturday, May 16th with a Gold award in the American Advertising Federation’s Fourth District ADDY’s competition for 2008 - 09. The AAF’s Fourth District represents over 2,000 advertising professionals in the state of Florida participating via 25 local chapters.

The winning entry was a web banner developed for the Cancer Research Alliance as part of an overall campaign to promote a 2008 cause marketing initiative. Developed around the theme “The Infinite Power of One,” this initiative’s goal was to change the face of cancer by encouraging people to each donate $1 dollar to cancer research and then pass this message on to family and friends.

American Advertising Federation honors Tampa art director with national award.

TAMPA, FL—Kate Whatley, the current President of the Ad 2 Tampa Bay chapter of the American Advertising Federation, has been named “Ad 2 President of the Year” by the national organization. The personal award was icing on the cake for Kate as the Ad 2 Tampa Bay chapter also won the prestigious “Club of the Year” award.

Ad 2 Tampa Bay is a local chapter of the American Advertising Federation’s “Ad 2” Young Professionals division, with membership limited to persons 32 years of age or younger. Twenty-five chapters are spread throughout the country, in such cities as Miami, Minneapolis and San Francisco among others.

Kate is an art director with PeakBiety branding + advertising located in downtown Tampa. Glen Peak, President of PeakBiety said, “I am immensely proud of Kate’s recent accomplishments and pleased with the positive impact that she and Ad 2 Tampa Bay are having on the local advertising community. PeakBiety brochure merits national Boy Scouts award.

The brochure was used to promote their annual golf tournament, The Boy Scouts Golf Spectacular, hosted by the Gulf Ridge Council. Fundraiser picks up ADDY gold on bike ride to help cure cancer.

TAMPA, FL—PeakBiety branding + advertising was presented with a gold ADDY award at this year’s annual competition for its design of a poster for Cure on Wheels, an all-volunteer organization hosting an annual bicycling event to raise funds for cancer research and treatment at the Moffitt Cancer Center. Cure on Wheels’ partnership with PeakBiety has also lead to a new brand promise and a new logo design, which is featured on the winning poster entry. As Florida’s only ride to benefit cancer research, Cure on Wheels’ intention is to successfully meld support from committed cyclists, volunteers, corporate sponsors and individual contributors. Their hope is to provide Moffitt Cancer Center doctors and researchers the necessary resources to discover cures for all cancers. The inaugural ride will take place May 31 through June 1 and will be centered around St. Leo University, just west of Dade City.

PeakBiety wins gold and silver in national awards show.

TAMPA, FL – PeakBiety branding + advertising has picked up two awards in this year’s highly prestigious Create Awards competition, an annual event hosted by Create Communications, publishers of Create Magazine.

The winning submissions were among only 235 awards chosen out of roughly 2,400 worldwide entries.  The PeakBiety electronic holiday card and electronic moving announcement were awarded silver and gold awards respectively in the category of “Creative Industry and Self Promotion.” These animated e-mail blasts were sent to current clients, business acquaintances and potential prospects.  They will be featured in the upcoming November & December 2007 issue of Create Magazine as well as online at www.thecreateawards.com.
